This Service Pack can be applied to AutoCAD 2016 installed as a standalone application, AutoCAD-based Vertical products, and the Autodesk Design Suites listed below. AutoCAD and Verticals Products: AutoCAD 2016 AutoCAD.

  2. AutoCAD 2016 service pack 1 is available! Autodesk put out a service pack 1 (sp1) for AutoCAD 2016 Sept. Many things have been fixed thanks to everyone submitting those error reports! Autodesk is also making some changes to how we apply service packs.
  3. This update contains all of the hotfixes released previously and applies to AutoCAD LT 2016 with the AutoCAD LT 2016 Service Pack 1 installed. The following resolutions are addressed by this update: Resolves a crash when opening or referencing specific DGN files. Changing the OSMODE setting after undo of the hatch command.
  4. Autodesk has released their first service pack for AutoCAD® 2012 and AutoCAD® LT 2012. This pack contains fixes, and some new commands, ARRAYCLASSIC and SNAPGRIDLEGACY. This readme contains the latest information regarding the installation and use of this service pack. It is strongly recommended that you read this entire document before you apply this service pack to your product. For reference, you should save this document to your hard drive or print a copy. This service pack also contains the updates in Autodesk® AutoCAD® Map 3D 2016 Service Pack 1.

You can apply this Service Pack to the following Autodesk® products running on all supported operating systems and languages. Be sure to install the correct Service Pack for your software.

  1. You can also use Autodesk Exchange to install the Live Update Maintenance Patches, which will automatically show the correct Service Pack for your product.

PrimaryIssues Resolved by Service Pack 2

The following issues have been resolved in Autodesk AutoCADMap 3D 2016 Service Pack 2:

MAPTOACAD

  • XData is missing after MAPTOACAD.

Display Manager

  • Layergroup is shown with gray check even if no layers under it are turned on.

FDO WMS

  • Letters with accents are not shown correctly in WMS Feature Information dialog.

Industry Model

  • Feature labels are not displayed in Job Explorer.
  • About Electrical Industry Model, when the Reconfigure Circuit and Flow workflow is run and encounters a transformer where the input circuit is not the same as the output circuit, the trace stops and the input circuit is unchanged.
  • Locked jobs in Autodesk Infrastructure Admin cannot be accessed after a crash.
  • Map 3D crashed when Overhead Transformer of Electric Industry Model is moved or rotated.
  • After Map 3D 2016 SP1 is applied, user cannot create labels with IM Form.
  • Opening some particluar file-based industry model drawing resulted in Autodesk Infrastructure Admin crash.
  • 'TB_VARIABLE' with user id set does not work on Oracle Standard Edition.

Others

  • The installation problem of Map 3D 2016 service pack side by side with AutoCAD 2016 service pack.
  • Some security issue which may be caused by raster images.

The following issues have been resolved in Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D 2016 Service Pack 1:

Multi-Mode grips

  • Multi-mode grips are relatively new features that allow for menu items on grip points that provide additional functionality. In this service pack, Map 3D adds multi-mode grips to map polyline features. Now once a polyline feature is checked out, you can use the grip points including the midpoints to edit the geometry just as you edit an AutoCAD polyline object.

MAPSYMBOLIMPORTEXPORT

  • Resize did not work after the symbol was updated by the command MAPSYMBOLIMPORTEXPORT.

Bulk Copy

  • Map 3D failed to bulk copy the data from a layer to a database data store or a file-based data store.

FDO WMS

  • Get WMS Feature Information was not functional.

Industry Model

  • TBCOORDINATEEXPORT: Option 'export Field Code' in Industry Model Survey was not available.
  • Incorrect behavior with how the input and output circuits are being set by the reconfigure workflow.
  • Forms: Import of only master form from exported Master-Detail Form reset the detail form.
  • Forms: Exit Form Designer without saving destroyed the detail form.
  • Map 3D crashed when highlighting features in some particular embedded DWG file.
  • If the industry model data is in Oracle 10g, creating a role in Infrastructure Administrator will result in crash.
  • Opening an embedded DWG file which has structure update error resulted in crash.
  • “Create new Feature from Geometry” is not working for the parent feature class if the label definiton has “User selects the label position” option enabled.

Others

  • ADE: Map 3D crashed when executing a query with hatch option.
  • ETransmit resulted in crash.
  • Drawings containing raster images may result in a crash.

General Installation Information

Note:

- Whenyou apply this Service Pack while running AutoCAD Map 3D, it isrecommended that you do not click the 'Automatically close applicationsand attempt to restart them after setup is complete' option. Instead,close AutoCAD Map 3D manually, and press 'Ignore' at the prompt. It isalso recommended that you reboot your system after installing theService Pack.

Back Up Custom Files

It is recommended that you back up all custom CUIX, MNR, and MNL files before you apply this service pack.

Administrative Privileges

During installation or uninstallation, you may be prompted for the original installation media or a network image. In order to apply this service pack, you must have privileges to install and uninstall products.

Network Deployment

Administrators can deploy this service pack over a network using the Deployment Wizard.

About Windows Command Line Switches

The following Microsoft Windows command line switches are built into this Service Pack:

/e – Extracts the MSP file from the Service Pack executable.

Autocad Lt 2016 Service Pack 2

/q – Suppresses the completion message after the Service Pack is applied. This is useful if you use a script or batch file to apply this Service Pack to multiple computers.

Instructions about how to use the /e command line switch are included in the installation procedures that follow.

Apply This Service Pack to a Stand-Alone Installation

Autocad

Follow these instructions to install this service pack on a single computer.

  1. Download the service pack and save it to any folder.
  2. Close all running Autodesk applications.
  3. If required, insert the product media (for example, the Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D installation disc) or make sure the installation source files are available.
  4. Find the folder where you saved the service pack and double-click the executable (EXE) file.

Follow these instructions to install this Service Pack on multiple computers using your Local Network.

  1. Download the Service Pack and save it to any shared folder on your Local Network.
  2. Find the shared folder where you saved the Service Pack, and double-click the executable (EXE) file.

Note: Installation through your local network using the CAD Manager Control Utility is not supported for this service Pack.

Apply This Service Pack to a Network Administrative Image

The following distribution method applies only to administrative images created with the Deployment Wizard. After you complete these procedures, subsequent deployments of your product will include this Service Pack.

In all cases, append this Service Pack to the deployment. The only time it is appropriate to merge the Service Pack is if you intend to distribute the deployment through a group policy object.

The patch (Service Pack) file that you download contains an MSP (Microsoft Patch) file, which you extract from the executable file using the /e (extract) switch. For an example of the syntax, see step 2, below.

  1. From the Autodesk Product Support website, download the Service Pack EXE file to your local computer.
  2. On the Start menu (Windows), click Run. Enter the following information and click OK.
  3. Insert the Autodesk media and launch setup.exe.
  4. Select Create Deployments. Click Next.
  5. On the Begin Deployment page, in the Specify the Deployment Location box, enter the shared network location where you would like to create an administrative image, or click Browse to find a location. Users install the product from this location.
  6. In the Specify a Deployment Name box, enter the name for your deployment.
  7. Continue through the Deployment wizard, open and configure the deployment in the product configuration page, click Add to find the Service Pack extracted in Step 2. Notice that the Service Pack has been added in the Include Service Pack(s) from local drive or local network box. Close and return to the product list.
  8. Follow the instructions in the Deployment wizard to complete the Service Pack deployment.

Note: When AutoCAD or LT service pack is included in deployment, the deployment will only install the AutoCAD or LT product service pack without update files for Autodesk Sync.

Windows 7 / Windows 8 or 8.1 / Windows 10

  1. Click Start and then Control Panel.
  2. Click Programs.
  3. Click Programs and Features.
  4. In the Programs and Features window, in the left pane, click View Installed Updates.
  5. Find the appropriate Service Pack in the list of updates. Click Uninstall.
